Desert Hills Middle School

School construction is an typical indicator of city growth and the new Desert Hills Middle School is part of several Kennewick School District projects that was built to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding community.  

Groundbreaking began in April 2015 and was substantially complete in July of 2016.  Desert Hills Middle School is a 2-story building that features over 144,000 sq/ft of new space for classrooms (37), staff offices, arts, athletic fields, cafeteria, orchestra/band rooms, computer labs, fitness lab, gym and more. It is also the first school in the district to have its own track. Enhanced safety was also a main feature of design.
